Save “The Dresden Files”

[Reposted Courtesy Slice of Scifi]

If all fans of “The Dresden Files” which was canceled by The SCI FI Channel are serious about wanting to get their show back with all new episodes, there might be something you can do.

Taking a page from the “Save Jericho” script, one of our Slice of SciFi fans by the name of John VanSeters took our cue about Mike suggestion of sending drum sticks to the network to the next level and got SCI FI President Bonnie Hammer snail-mail address. The drum stick is an appropriate message to send to Hammer since Harry Dresden uses one for his magician wand.

You can mail those drum sticks to:

The Sci-Fi Channel
Attn: Bonnie Hammer, President
1230 Avenue of the Americas
New York, NY 10020-1513

Now get those drum sticks going and donate forget to print “SAVE DRESDEN” on each stick you sent to Ms. Hammer.

Man Versus Child

Intrepid science fiction author and podcaster, Tee Morris take on a two year old to teach you how to survive.

This is our spoof of The Discovery Channel’s show, Man vs. Wild. This was originally done for their You Spoof Discovery contest.

Peering inside Nikon’s D3 and D300

This is quite cool. I am jonesing for a D300 now, thanks to Kevin Devin for making me think about it. Here is a piece from C|NET showing off the “guts” of the new Nikon D3 and D300. Interesting to see the skeleton in particular.

Nikon’s D3 and D300 SLR (single-lens reflex) cameras, announced Wednesday, are complicated and expensive beasts, so few people outside a repair center or Canon’s competitive intelligence unit are going to be cracking them open.

Editing Technorama

Here is a video of me editing Technorama for show number 183. There isn’t much to see, other than my desktop. However, I thought that listening to it may give some insight on what goes on, behind the scenes.

Chuck and I do Double Enders while talking over Skype. A Double Ender is where he records himself, and I record myself, and then I piece them together as one audio production. The finale product sounds as though we were in the same room, or that is the intent. I do very little cuts, and mainly address syncing issues associated with lag due to recording a double ender.

* UPDATE * You may want to skip around a bit. I was in the Chat room and was distracted a few times…and you can see when I pause editing. So I blame the IRC room. 😉
