Googling for Books

I see that Google now offers downloads of some out of copywrite book on its Book Search. I think that this is great and all but is this really better that Geutenberg project. The 2 PDFs that I download from Google were literal scans to PDF, pictures of the book itself. Not very flexible to put on a book Reader.

Comic for Aug 30th

Finally after all this planning I have something up! It is a start and I see that I still need some work on lettering and speechballoons, but I am excited to see where all this takes me, us, everyone.
Posting comics will be spotty at first but I plan on making this a daily thing, So […]

Mass., Microsoft Office, and ODF

Looks like Mass. is going to use the ODF plugin on MS Office instead of moving to OpenOffice all together as ZDNet Reports.

Is this good? I think so. I don’t have a problem with anyone using Microsoft Office, I do have a problem with requiring people to use Microsoft Office to view public documents or do business with your customers. This has been an MS problem for a long time, locking customers in with propritary formats. This should force them to compete on features, which Office is good at.

SurgeTV, what tha…

This is the stupidest thing I think that I have read in a long time. First G4 takes over TechTV to become G4TechTV then just G4 again…and now we have the SciFi Channel changing the name to what sounds like a Cola? AND adding wrestling? What the Heck is going on!

Maybe I am just getting older…I don’t know.

SCI FI Channel to Change Name to SurgeTV
Effective
November 1, 2006, the SCI FI Channel will change their name to SurgeTV,
to reflect the changing demographic thrust of the successful
long-running cable channel. In addition, deals are currently working
out to bring back ECW for a three-times a week run in prime time, as
well as reruns (Pre-WWE) of professional wrestling events.

Update: Ok, I am an idiot…Looks like I was taken in. Apparently this is a prank…I went looking for an official notice on their site but didn’t find one, and now I see others questioning it. Guess I should have looked before I pulled the trigger on my blog! Bleh.
