Google Maps and Satellites!

I just noticed that Google maps added Satellite imagery to thier maps. It is funny that this showed up now, because just over the weekend Chuck Tomasi from Chuck Chat.com were just talking about how cool it would be if that was available.

Its like Google must be reading my mind…wait a minute….

Third of US iPod owners now podcasting

Really? That seems high, however I know that there is a lot of podcasts out there, so I guess it could be right… Interesting.

Third of US iPod owners now podcasting :: osViews | osOpinion :: Tech Opinions for the People, by the People
The relatively new practice of ‘podcasting’ is taking hold in the US, according to a recent survey by the Pew Internet and American Life Project.

Nearly a third of US adults who own iPods or other types of MP3 players have downloaded podcasts – audio broadcasts, such as radio shows, available on the web which can be downloaded to a computer and then transferred onto a portable audio device.

April Fools…Let the Games Begin!

Number 1:

ThinkGeek :: iCopulate
It’s not easy being single. At ThinkGeek we believe everyone deserves a little lovin’… Geeks can’t survive on technology and BAWLS® alone. But how about your iPod®? It’s sleek and sexy, but has probably never had a date. If you looked half as good as your smooth glossy white pod, you’d have to beat folks off with a stick. It’s almost unfair.

Number 2:

Google Gulp
At Google our mission is to organize the world’s information and make it useful and accessible to our users. But any piece of information’s usefulness derives, to a depressing degree, from the cognitive ability of the user who’s using it. That’s why we’re pleased to announce Google Gulp (BETA)â„¢ with Auto-Drinkâ„¢ (LIMITED RELEASE), a line of “smart drinks” designed to maximize your surfing efficiency by making you more intelligent, and less thirsty.

Number 3: For the GTD people around here…

43 Folders: April Power Hacks!
How about a roundup of some hot new 43 Folders “hacks” for starting your new month off right?

Number 4:

MSN Search Spoof
MSN Search celebrates April Fool’s Day by introducing Spoof, a tool to let you create funny search results about a friend, family member, or co-worker. When you’re done, you can send the page to the target or anyone else you think might get a laugh out of it.

Worldwide Baby!

I am guesting on the Technews Radio’s Tech Tidbits Daily for Thursday and Friday March 10th and 11th. Steve Holden was kind enough to let me step in while he is “On Assignment” in Yosemite National Park somewhere. I guess you don’t get much Wi-fi there…

He does good work on his show, so if you don’t already subscribe to his podcast, go and check it out.

Battlestar Galactica Podcast?

A friend of mine, Patrick Mikulak, pointed me to this little bit of information.
Apparently the people over at Scifi Channel in charge of Battlestar Galactica are creating a podcast to accompany the show. It looks like you will get director type commentary with the show.

This is very cool, and only makes me like the show more. I already look forward to it each Friday. Now I will be even more interested to see what the Podcast has to say.

I think that it is evident by the effort that is put into the show, the blog they already provide, and now the podcast that they really want to reach out to the audience and make a good show. Very cool.

I think that Paramount should be taking notes.
