Ben 10

There are not a lot of newer cartoon shows on that I can get into, but my son has been stuck on Ben-10 and I have to say that I am getting that way to.

Ben Tennyson finds the Omnitrix (looks like a big watch) that permanently attaches to his arm and it allows him to transform into 1 of 10 aliens with super powers. It is the sort of thing that I think any boy would have hoped to find.

He uses this new found abilities for everything between stopping bad buys and saving his cousin Gwen.

Lots of Fun especially if you have a young one into Superheroes.

Me and IE

IE 7 that is.

I installed it on my laptop, I had too…we will probably be rolling it out at some point. I like it..to a point. That point being ANYTHING other than IE6 is better.

I was using Google reader…It was blocking images from all my articles. I think that it does this because the images are on another server other than google (anti-phishing). When I click the INFO bar to tell it to show the images…it refreshes the page…therefore, when the page comes back, I am still looking at my UN-READ ITEMS, and the article that I was just looking at is now read because I was already viewing it before the refresh. Now I have to go hunt for it in my READ items for it.

Also I see TOO many confirmation boxes. I clicked on the info bar, and said, “Allow Popup from this site”. Then a box pops up, “Allow popups from google.com”. Didn’t I just tell it that? Also…the Internet Options is basically the same set up as the old one on IE6. I think that they could have given the prefrences a little more thought. Come on, shake things up a little…Organize it!

I also showed IE7 to a co-worker, their first reaction? “Hey, it looks like Firefox”

I am still sold on Firefox…the plugins ALONE are worth their weight in gold.

Bottom Line, I like it aside from my quirks above. (ALPHA PNGs W00T!)

New and Improved, More of the same though.

Oh Boy…New Star Trek Movie

There is a lot of speculation about what the next movie will be about. J.J. Abrahms hinted that it will take place in early Star Trek Lore with Kirk and Spock at StarFleet Academy…but I think that the recently released movie poster for it says a lot.

Check it out at Star Trek.com

The ABCs of TV on the Internet

I just watched Lost on ABC.com (for the first time)…pretty cool.

It stopped for a couple of quick moments, I assume buffering, but overall I watched it without any trouble.

Something interesting about the commercial breaks…There are 3, if you watch 2 they let the other one slide, and you don’t have to see it and breezes right by the commercial marker. As a commercial plays, there is a countdown timer at the bottom. After the commercial plays and timer is stopped, you have to click a button to continue with the show. I like
that because I can get up and walk off and come back and it is right were I left it. I assume you can click on the button and skip one of the commercials at your choosing, but have to see atleast 2.

I think that ABC has done a really good job with this…now after seeing LOST for the first time, I want to see the 1st season till now. I would watch more. I also think that people are going to have to realize, as much as I would rather skip commercials, that it pays thebills.
